KARACHI:

The umbrella grouping of political, religious and nationalist parties led by Pakistan Muslim League-Functional chief Pir Pagara has decided to field joint candidates for 51 provincial assembly seats in the province.

Addressing a joint press conference at the Functional League House, leaders of the bloc expressed their concern over the caretaker bureaucratic set-up in the province and said that transparent, free and fair elections were not possible in the presence of political appointees in the cabinet and provincial administration.

“We have discussed seat adjustment in the entire province and strong candidates will contest against the PPP and its former allies in government,” PML-F Sindh General Secretary Imtiaz Shaikh told reporters.

Shaikh called for posting of neutral officers in the district administrations to hold transparent elections.
