The appeal, seeking clearance of his nomination papers, was filed before a tribunal headed by judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench, Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh.
Amir’s nomination papers for his constituency NA-60 in Chakwal were rejected because he allegedly wrote articles against the “ideology of Pakistan”.
The PML-N leader pleaded for his candidature and claimed that he did not write any objectionable article.
Nasrullah Jalal of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), whose papers were rejected from NA-55 Rawalpindi, also filed an appeal. He maintained that the objections raised on his candidature were baseless.
The tribunal fixed the hearing of the appeals on April 10 and issued notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the respective Returning Officers and other relevant authorities.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH enourages diversity in a society
Being a regular reader of his articles appearing in " The News ", i felt that he was a diehard secular, liberal and a great fan of the western way of life.
The Returning Officers have shown activism which is due to their inferiority complex.
The questions on Islam have different answers depending on sect the respondent belongs. According to Sunnis there would be three questions in grave and Shia believe five questions for example.
The Ghusal is different. The Wuzoo is different depending on sects. If a person knows how to bathe the dead does not mean that he was SAADIQ AND AMEEN.
Guarantee that his nomination will get approved, thanks to ties with PML-N, yet Musharraf's won't. This is despite the fact that like Ayaz Amir, Musharraf has no CONVICTIONS in a court of law and fully meets the requirements laid down in the two articles of concern being used by the ECP.
He's is among the few precious gems left in Pakistan.
A smear campaign is going in Pakistan to keep the key leaders of PML-N away from electoral process. First it was Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif against whom baseless news was floated and then a "clarification" after their press conference. Then it was Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who is a graduate from Cambridge University a top-class university in the world. Malik Riaz had committed to use "all resources" to keep Chaudhry Nisar away from Parliament! A similar campaign is running against Ayaz Amir of PML-N to keep him away from elections.
