Football: Mehran FC clinch local tournament

Mehran FC also bagged a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

KARACHI: Mehran FC lifted the Naveedul Hassan Memorial Football Tournament trophy as they defeated Ravi FC 3-0 at the G-9/2 football ground in Islamabad. Mehran FC clinched the title after competing alongside 35 other registered clubs from Islamabad in a month-long tournament. The team also bagged a cash prize of Rs 25,000, while runners-up Ravi FC received Rs 15,000 and CDA FC took away Rs 10,000 after winning the third place match against Huma FC. Muhammad Kashif, Khursheed and Ali Naqvi scored one goal apiece for the winning team in the final.
