General elections: Purge of administration to start soon

The chief secretary assured the chief minister that he would uphold merit.

Chief Secretary Javed Iqbal on Friday called on Caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi here on Friday at CM’s house.

Sethi asked Iqbal to take ‘all possible measures’ for holding free and fair elections in the province. He also said that all officials appointed for political reasons should be immediately transferred. The chief secretary assured the chief minister that he would uphold merit. Iqbal arrived in Lahore earlier on Friday and met the additional chief secretary and implementation and coordination secretary.
