Amnesty scheme: Multan Customs collects Rs350m

The government has extended the amnesty scheme till April 6 to facilitate the people and collect more revenue.

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate Multan has collected Rs350 million in taxes as of March 31 under the vehicles amnesty scheme. Customs Collector Tauseef Ahmad said on Wednesday that cases for around 950 vehicles had been processed at the collectorate by March 31, and a sum of Rs350 million was collected. The government has extended the amnesty scheme till April 6 to facilitate the people and collect more revenue, Tauseef said. He explained that three teams have been formed to speed up proceedings under the amnesty scheme. The teams are working under the supervision of the Multan Dry Port Deputy Collector Muhammad Tahir, he said, adding that staff has resumed the receipt of documents from people for clearance. Some staff has also been shifted to the dry port from the airport office and model customs collectorates to speed up the work, he added.
