Born on April 3, 1965, the "Sweetheart of Pakistan" became country's pop icon in the 80s.
Her first hit was a pop song “Aap Jaisa Koi” which she sang for an Indian film titled Qurbani at the age of 15. She won a Filmfare award for this song and paved the way for her debut album, Disco Deewane.
Nazia, along with her brother produced audio and video hits, forever changing the Pakistani pop music industry.
Even during the conservative era of General Ziaul Haq, Nazia persevered, not faltering in her passion for music and became a celebrity. Among her biggest hits were “Ankhen Milane Wale” and “Dum Dum Dede”.
In 1995, she got married and had her son Arez in 1997.
Sadly, Nazia passed away in 2000 after losing her battle with cancer. She, however, remains a celebrity in the hearts of the 80's generation and lives on through her fans and all those who showered her with their love.

@Queen and @Haris Chaudhry: There is nothing wrong in praying for someone's forgiveness. That does not mean one is being self-righteous. Everyone is a sinner. May Allah forgive her and all of us for our shortcomings ameen.

@Peer saab: It is a good thing to pray for a departed soul but we should also pray for the forgiveness of our sins.
She is not only in the hearts of 80's generation. She is in the hearts of many people since she started singing till today and probably till a long time. She was a brave lady who gave illness and her worries a back-seat. She was tallented and beautiful. We will always love you and pray for you Nazia. Rest in peace and may Allah forgive all your sins. Aamin
@ Peer Saab !
Mate, you worry about getting your own sins being forgiven and rather focus on appreciating a legendary singer, a beautiful person and a lovely sister !
May Allah bless her soul
May God forgive her sins.
