Mengal doused herself with petrol and was about to set herself on fire with a lighter when journalists and other people present at the conference intervened and stopped her.
Mengal claimed that she has been with the PML-N since 2002 but the party ignored her.
The police though arrested Mengal after the incident.
Other members who were not awarded party tickets also staged a protest.

PML(N)'s members are playing with their lives because its ticket means guaranteed victory. PTI's candidates will commit this act after elections.
This is just sad....
It is a very sad incident.
She must have worked very hard for PML(N) and we she could not get the part ticket, she felt that she has been rejected by PML(N).
PTI in this sence is much better that Imran Khan has awarded tickets to those people who have worked very hard to PTI, but what to talk about PML(N) which has its own thumb rule.

A person who tries to commit suicide is having a serious psychiatric illness and needs to be seen by a Psychiatrist. Whether it was a genuine attempt or election gimmick, she stands unfit for holding any public office.
Just saw her video and it is more funny drama. She is reluctant to do anything, waits for the cues and then before she can go anywhere near the firing, she is held back. total topi drama.

Hehehe - she is lucky that right people were there to jump in last minute. It would have been a disaster if she tried to do this infront of partiament or any other place where there are no supporters etc. I think that is how real people successfully do it.
It is so sad to hear such news. I think now the PML-N workers/supporters must reaalize that they will never be given party ticket because it is for Malik, Chaudhry, Rai Sahab,Khansahab, Nawabzada and other feudals. The PML-N workers are to just work and in return they get 'Thenga'. Stop following these family business parties, i mean PML-N, PPP, ANP. These parties have never given representation to youth and will never. They fooled the youth by giving them laptops and for poor people they have started bus service. In 5 years time one can built new cities and here PML-N is singing loudly about its laptops, few danish schools and bus service. Poor workers of PML-N. I wish they can open their eyes now ATLEAST. For all the people who sing praises for PMLN. The incident tells the state of democracy in all the political parties other than PTI, which for the first time in South Asia has conducted internal party elections!
