Ban spree: CM bans plastic bags, unfit vehicles

Sindh caretaker chief minister implements new bans, issues directives to concerned departments.

KARACHI: Sindh caretaker chief minister Justice (retired) Zahid Qurban Alavi has banned the usage of plastic bags and public transport running without the fitness certificate across the province.

Necessary directives have been issued to the concerned departments by the chief minister's secretariat. He also directed that car registration counters be set up in the office of all deputy commissioners of the province.

A ban was also imposed on sale of unregistered vehicles while showrooms have been asked to stop sale of such vehicles. Motorcyclists could not escape the ban spree as underage riding was disallowed and helmets have been made compulsory. Any violation carries a fine of Rs500.
