KARACHI: Intermediate exams across the province have been deferred from May 7 to May 16 to make sure they do not overlap with the upcoming general elections.

The exams will start on May 23 in all 23 districts of the province, decided the heads of education boards.

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi chairperson, Prof. Anwar Ahmed Zai presided over the meeting.

“The change in exams schedule was unavoidable as educational institutions have to serve as polling stations and teachers, too, have election duties,” he said.

The matriculation exams will, however, start from April 8 as per schedule.
