KARACHI: The results of a chemical report conducted to verify whether or not a 30-year-old Filipina maid had been raped by a man, Mumtaz Baloch, and two other culprits, have come back positive.

The results confirm that she had indeed been raped. The incident occurred in her apartment in Gizri on February 21.

Baloch, who was arrested the next day from his house, is currently imprisoned in Karachi Central Jail. The other culprits escaped to the Punjab and have yet to be arrested.

The police officials had sent the clothes of the victim and the culprit to their medical lab.

The medical examiner, Dr Fazal Elahi, said that the report had been sent to police officials.

Investigation officer SIO Irshan Karim told The Express Tribune that the samples of evidence collected from the clothes of the victim and the culprit matched. He confirmed that the maid had been raped by the key suspect, Baloch.

Police officials have submitted a charge sheet to the lower court handling the case.
