Agencies’ Reports: ‘Security at 137 buildings in the division inadequate’

Most of the close circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the sessions court were out of order.

Security at 137 buildings in the Faisalabad division is at risk, The Express Tribune has learnt. These include 39 police stations.


According to Zeeshan Haider, a divisional administration spokesman, security agencies have reported that guards performing duties at the main gates of these buildings and staff at watch posts were found frequently absent in a recent survey.

Of the buildings with weak security in the division, he said, 59 were in Faisalabad district, 32 in Jhang, 26 in Toba Tek Singh and 20 in Chiniot district.

In Faisalabad district, the buildings include police stations, sessions court, district court, the anti-terrorism court, the railway station, an office of the Pakistan Air Force, the city bus terminal, Allied Hospital and offices of the district coordination officer and the city police officer, he added.

According to the report of security agencies, he said, most of the close circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the sessions court, the district court and the DCO’s office were out of order.
