ISLAMABAD: Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) and The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the ‘Integrity Pact’, according to a press release on Sunday. By signing the MoU, TIP has agreed to notify the FBR chairman of any anomalies the watchdog identifies in the board’s procurement process. TIP will also assist FBR in formulating transparent tender evaluation criteria and ensuring the tender procedure complies with the Public Procurement Rules 2004. Under the MoU, FBR will also have to ensure TIP’s observations regarding any anomalies in the procurement process are addressed promptly. TIP is set to sign a similar MoU on the ‘Integrity Pact’ with the National Database and Registration Authority.
