World tb day: Awareness campaign launched

ATTOCK: Citizens can play an effective role in raising awareness on and controlling tuberculosis (TB) in the district. TB is a communicable disease and can be transferred from one patient to about 15 persons. However, it is a curable disease. This was stated by TB Programme Mobilizer Mohsin Shehzad at a press conference on Sunday. He said a TB Control Programme has been undertaken in Jand, Pindigheb, Fatehjang and Attock where diagnosis and treatment facilities are being provided to patients free-of-charge. Moreover, he said, a team of doctors is treating the patients of TB and labotroeies have been set up for this purpose.
