‘Gift’ For Shahdara: CM inaugurates 300-bed hospital

Hospital cost Rs1 billion and is equipped with modern machinery and specialist doctors, says press release.

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated a new hospital at Shahdara on Monday.

The 300-bed hospital was built at a cost of Rs1 billion and is equipped with modern machinery and staffed by specialist doctors, according to a press release from the Directorate General of Public Relations.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the chief minister said that the government had spent billions of rupees on providing free medicine and medical facilities.

He said that the new, modern hospital was “an excellent gift” from the Punjab government to the people of Shahdara. He said that it had been built in “record time”.

Replying to questions from reporters, Sharif said that the PML-N had proposed reputable names for caretaker prime minister and chief minister.

He said that consultations within the party regarding the caretaker set-up were continuing..
