No explanation has been given regarding the decision.
The PML-N now have two nominations for caretaker prime minister namely Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Rasul Bakhsh Palejo, a veteran Sindhi politician.
The opposition leader also rejected the government nominees for the post.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf spoke to Nisar on the phone and was informed about the opposition's decisions.
Nisar will hold a press conference at 4:00pm (today) to shed light on the situation.
When the nomination of Justice (retd) Shakirullah Jan came in on March 6, Nisar said that they were unsure whether Jan qualified, but after consulting constitutional experts, it was found that there were no clearly set qualifications for the interim PM slot.
“When we were sure that he qualified, we finalised his name.”
With Justice (retd) Shakirullah Jan's name revoked, five names remain in the caretaker prime minister nomination pool.
The five names include:
• Former finance minister Hafeez Shaikh
• Former governor of the State Bank of Pakistan Dr Ishrat Hussain
• Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khosa
• Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid
• Rasool Bux Palijo

@Morons: Why to give him a chance?? We destroyed this nation while playing chance chance game... look 65 years gone into dustbin. We have nothing to show :-( Now guys wake-up, it is Pakistan, our beloved nation... Please don't do any thing which destroy our face in front of world.
I find Mr Paleejo's profile very impressive. However, why I think most people tend to sway away from him is because his family is associated with a Sindhi Nationalist party and not Pakistan National party. It is commendable that his faithfulness to Sindhi nation is public and not hidden like PPP (Sindhis and balochis), MQM (Muhajirs) and ANP (Pathans) but the people of Pakistan will never appreciate it in a positive way. We can always give a chance to a proven person from a particular ethnicity to represent the whole Nation. He delivered for Sindhis since they gave him chance and he will do so for the whole Nation if we give him chance. Prejudice is not an option.
After reading all these comments I will go for Mr Palijo.

Please read this... and tell us more about Mr.Palijo what he did in past?
@Adnan Siddiqi: This is not inane and childish argument that Mr.Palijo is the leader of Sindh.. Please go and ask him if he has any knowledge about other cities and issues of pakistan.
@ali Mustufa: With all due respect to Mr.Ishrat, can you name one financial reform done by him???
@virtual @Adnan Siddiqi @Shaami: Hahahahah.. Forget everything, just tell me why my comments are recommed most 19 times.. it means there is something wrong with Mr. Palijo :-) Dear friends, Compare with Dr. Ishrat with Palijo... He was the governor of state bank and had given so much for this country in terms of financial reforms for the banking sector. What Mr.Palijo had given to us?? tell me?? Nothing........ He is the leader of Sindhi people not pakistani people.. WTH
Palijo should be given the post for his endless sacrifications in the run for democracy.
opposition leader has revoked the name of Justice shakir ullha jan from race of caretaker Pm Ship it was going to happen because he belonged to KPK and was ex member of national lawyers forum. Now two names remained in the battle slot of caretaker prime minister on opposition side i.e justice (R) Nasir Aslam zahid and veteran Sindhi politician Rasool Bakhsh Plaeejo. on other hand Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has put forward three other names for caretaker prime minister including his ex cabinet member hafeez sheikh , ex governor state bank dr. ishret husain and justice (R) Mir hazar Khoso. who will win this battle ? in case of dispute the matter will take further 10 days when ball will go in the court of election commission and further more when it become subj educe in the court of law .Although supreme court has declared that it will not tolerate any delay in election 2013.Please it is my request from both sitting government and opposition that decide this matter in accordance with political will as the precedent was put forward by kpk govt and opposition both the parties are agreed on the name of Justice (R) Tariq Pervaiz Khan for caretaker chief minister of kpk. we the people of Pakistan are fed up from this dirty politics we want solution to our problems i think which is not with present set up we want change because enough is enough.
@Ruhail Azam: The tragedy with this generation of Pakistan is that they have only seen corrupt and visionless politicians. A nationalist and straight forward personality like that of Mr. Paleejo is never focused or discussed by our media. We as a nation do not deserve personalities like Mr. Paleejo as our politicians. As we are also as corrupt and visionless as our current politicians. We admire people having connections with world bank and US, we follow politicians on their baseless slogans. Personalities N D Khan, Dr. Mabashir Hussain, Taj Haider, Paleejo and many others will never fascinate us, because they offer politic of principle not politics of slogans.
@ali Mustufa: Shame on you for your comment. Rasool Baksh is a veteran in Pakistani politics and Dr Ishrat is a technocrat type person while the former is the leader of Sindhi people.
Javed Ch in his column said that Fakhru Bhai name was just used by PMLN to make the list more presentable and infact they wanted someone else. In both CEC list and caretaker PM list Justice Jan is common person, so why Justice Jan's name was withdrawn and what is expected now.
@ Ali, I didnt see the reason of ridiculing Mr Palijo, If you know even little bit history of his struggle for democracy and how he and his family stood fast against the dictator and faced, torture and jail sentences for about 10 years but didnt even move an inch from his stance. He in the past have been approached many a times for different positions but never can he was bought by any government. We need someone of his chracter to lead this nation through the elections, someone who we know will never surrrender or make a deal or can be bought.
Dont see Dr Ishrat or Hafeez Shiekh to even match his struggle, no matter how much I try I cant laugh at him, sitting infront of your laptop and ridicule someone is easy but for god sake when ever you say something please makesure you have enough background and information to talk about that person.
One column of Javed Chaudhry scared 'em!
It will be Mr. Hazar Khosa
@ali Mustufa:
It depends how you look at people. Rasul Baksh Palijo is a patriot of the highest pedigree who has championed the cause of the subjugated and the downtrodden all his life; not to mention the services and sacrifices he has rendered for the supremacy of democracy against the forces of status-quo, dictatorships and wadera-ism.
On the otherhand, the likes of Dr. Ishrat Hussain belongs to the band of elitists who have spent their lives furthering the agenda of the capitalists and is responsible for pushing Pakistan into an abyss of economic despondency and into the clutches of IMF and World Bank.
@ali Mustufa: what is wrong with Palijo. Who is the most appropriate man for caretaker? Repondez SVP.
Dr Ishrat Hussain is the best choice for interim PM
This Looks like IPL auction of Players
hahahahaha how weird to see the name of Rasool Bux Palijo in the list with Dr Ishrat Hussain...lolz May GOD save this country
