BAHAWALPUR:

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has sealed five CNG filling stations for selling gas illegally during the six days a week load-shedding.

Green Grow, Five Star, Sona Chandi, Bahawal and Madni CNG stations were sealed after a raid by Bahawalpur SNGPL officials on Tuesday.

Bahawalpur SNGPL regional manager Sheikh Ikram said all offenders would be dealt with an iron hand and legal action would be taken against those violating the law.

On Tuesday, gas officials were beaten allegedly by the staff of a CNG station owned by Pakistan Muslim League-N MNA Mian Baligur Rehman when they tried to close it.

SNGPL officials later staged a protest demonstration claiming that the Samma Satta police were not registering a case against the culprits due to political pressure.

PRO to Bahawalpur DPO Mohammad Imran told The Express Tribune that the DPO had taken notice of the incident and summoned both parties to his office on March 14 (today).
