Transition: Maula Jutt actor Aasia Begum passes away
She was one of the popular female actors during the decades of 70s and 80s.
Pakistani film industry’s senior actor Aasia Begum, who is famous for her work in 1979 Punjabi film Maula Jatt, passed away in Canada, Express News reported Saturday.
The actor had worked in films like Maula Jatt, Wehshi Jatt among other films. She was one of the most popular female actors during the '70s and '80s.
She won two Nigar Awards; one for Best Actress for her role in the film Qanoon in 1977, while the other one was for Best Supporting Actress for the film Aag in 1979.
Her most memorable performance though remains the role she played in Maula Jatt, which saw Aasia cast in the lead role opposite veteran actor Sultan Rahi.
She passed away in Canada on Saturday
