Exploring new markets: Hungary seeks to boost trade

The envoy said that MOL is catering to 14% needs of Pakistan and providing jobs to around 600 people.

ISLAMABAD: The Hungarian government wants to enhance its trade and economic relations with Pakistan, as Hungary is considering exploring new markets with the concept of expanding the sphere of its trade. Hungarian Ambassador in Pakistan Istvan Szabo made these remarks while addressing at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that Hungary had invested $1.4 billion in Pakistan’s energy sector, while volume of trade was $56 million in the preceding year. The envoy said that MOL is the biggest Hungarian company in Pakistan engaged in oil, which is catering to 14% needs of Pakistan and providing jobs to around 600 people. Szabo said that Schengen visa for businessmen could be applied through Hungarian Embassy in Islamabad, however, businessmen after visiting Hungary can also visit Schengen states.
