FDA: Spring Festival begins today

Events to include car show, bird show, horse dance and musical programmes.

A Spring Festival will begin here on Friday (today) at Sargodha Road under the auspices of the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA).

Talking to reporters, FDA Director General Waheed Akhtar Ansari said that the first day if the festival had been dedicated to women on account of the International Women’s Day. He said a flowers show, a musical show, self-grooming stalls and face painting stalls had been arranged as part of the first day festivities. He said a flower arrangement competition would be held in four categories to mark the arrival of spring. Students, housewives and nursery owners would participate in the competition, he said.




He said an air show, a car show, a bird show, horse dance, tent pegging and musical programmes were planned for later days.

He said there was a separate enclosure for special children.

He hoped that the festival would provide citizens with an opportunity to relax and have a good time with their families.

To a question, Ansari said that development in the FDA City Housing Colony was going ahead according to town planning standards.

FDA Directors Amir Aziz, Yaqub Khan and Parks and Horticulture Authority Deputy Directors Yousaf Mufti and Zahid Parvaiz were also present.
