ECP orders removal of political wall chalking and billboards

The DCO, DPO and SP will be held responsible if orders are not imposed till the deadline expires.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday ordered all political parties, contesting in upcoming elections, to remove their billboards and wall chalking by March 11, 2013, Express News reported on Thursday.

Additional secretary election commission Afzal Khan told the media that, “If political parties fail to remove wall chalking and billboards then the relevant District Coordination Officer (DCO) and District Police Officer (DPO) will be held responsible.”

He said that even the SP will be answerable if the order is not fully imposed.

On March 6, secretary ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed said that the election schedule will be announced in 10 days after the present assemblies are dissolved.

What about political flags and party offices inside government buildings?

Good move but I don't think it will ever be fully implemented.
