KARACHI: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) put up an Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) at the Gwadar International Airport and the new land border Gabadt.

Elaborating upon the benefits of the system, NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik said: “Securing Pakistan begins with securing international borders, including international airports, land, rail and sea borders.”

According to a press release, the system is designed specifically as per the country’s immigration laws, to prevent illegal entry of travellers, use of counterfeited documents, human smuggling, and other travel-related frauds.

IBMS is operational at the Pak-Iran border for the management of passengers at all entry and exit points. IBMS is said to document and store the entire travelling process starting from visa issuance till departure and arrivals to the country.
