Helpline: ‘Rescue-1122 saves lives’

People should contact the service immediately in case of an emergency as lives can be lost on account of delay.

SARGODHA: Rescue-1122 officials have assisted people in 996 cases with an average response time of 3.84 minutes over the past month, said District Emergency Officer Mazhar Shah while presenting a monthly report on Friday.

As many as 185 people were administered first-aid only and Rescue was called in 345 road accidents, said Shah. He said paramedics administered first-aid to patients in 728 cases.

These patients were taken to hospitals for further treatment, he said. Fire fighters saved lives and valuables in 15 cases in the past month, said Shah.

Rescue officials were also called in 47 incidents of violent crime, he said. Several people trapped in or under vehicles in accidents were rescued in six rescue operations, said Shah.

People should contact the service immediately in case of an emergency as lives can be lost on account of delay, he said adding, and “We save lives on a daily basis.”
