On Saturday, Deputy convener of the MQM Dr Farooq Sattar announced that the MQM have ended the alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and will now sit in opposition.
Earlier on February 14, the MQM had left the in-camera session of Sindh assembly on pretext that the PPP was supporting Lyari gangsters.
The MQM Coordination Committee held emergency meetings later in the day in Karachi and London simultaneously, during which the infuriated leaders claimed that the PPP had damaged its ties with the MQM.
They released a press statement saying, “The MQM joined hands with the PPP to bring peace and prosperity to the province. Yet, the PPP leaders are spearheading the notorious criminals of Lyari.”
As a result, MQM members present in the provincial and federal ministry offices submitted their resignations to the co-ordination committee.

MQM is just drama, once again resignation and after muk muka they will join in 1-2 days, now MQM should be sensible after 25 years they should have learnt as many are educated like governor. They make senseless things and expect that everyone understand them. How ridiculous.
Haha!
A real face of MQM is known by everyone. It’s their policy to be with Government, enjoy their portfolios, jobs, funds and then leave the Government before completion of its tenure. It’s not a surprise for the people of Pakistan. It happened as usual they used to threat the Government for acquiring their demands. Why Governor is still seated? Why Governor has not resigned yet? Don’t they remember that Governor belongs to MQM as well. It’s a dual policy and dirty game playing by PPP-MQM who want to make the people fool but nobody can dare to ask them for Governor’s resignation. They just want to make interim setup together nothing else. Shame on it! Media should play a pivotal role against their dirty politics.
MQM disappointed its supporters, it has lost its credibility. if it is sincere in quitting government and alliance with PPP, then Mr. Governor should resign. There are playing on the blood of innocent people of karachi as they always do.
Just DRAMA!!!!!
It is a norm that resignations are submitted to Speaker of National/Provincial Assembly.
If honest, just follow thw set rules.
But no, this is a pure drama. The voters should note and act as to what their heart says -not head.
The opportune party has seen the opportunity to chose the caretaker set up perhaps on the advise of RM.
MQM needs leadership change ... Big time
Give us a break...
Mqm and Jui share excellent foresight to remain always in power. Five years they have enjoyed and now they will be looking for new alliance because they are sure that PPP is going to be washed out in the next general elections. It's a bad luck for Pakistan that whosoever (whether a middle class as is the case with Mqm members or the landlord class) becomes the parlimentarian, he selfishly takes care of himself and his party only. So the middle class becomes the landlord class and the landlord class becomes super class. Let Allah (swt) take care of these corrupted, dual facet leaders. Long live Pakistan
So soon?
So after 4 years 11 months... they have decided to sit in the opposition. Haha.
The one muk muka imran khan will refrain from pointing at. So what about the governor for life ishratulibaad? when is he going to realise that ppp is supporting gangsters from lyari?
After enjoying enormous perks and privileges of being in the Government for five long years, no point in leaving the Govt now. It is all an eye wash without any shame.
What about the Governor? Perhaps, it is too valuable a post to abandon.
After threatening to resign 7 times in last 5 years, you decide to do that just days before the parliament gets dissolved- MQM has lost its popular appeal given its hunger for power.
This election i hope people of urban sindh realize what MQM has really become - a party of an individual who most likely has lost ability and integrity at the hands of Mr. President. From protecting rights of Mohajirs, its is using the mandate to justify its existence.
This is a political move, nothing to do with standing behind the rights of people of urban Sind - keep the Governor slot and resigning this late just shows what is party is aiming for. The only reason they resign now it to control the nomination of care-taker prime minister.
Sincerely hope that the coming election people of Urban Sind choose a better political outfit.
FYI - i also come from Karachi and belong to so called Urdu speaking part, tough i only consider myself as a Pakistani.
LOL... just 29 days before the their term is complete... I doubt if PPP send Rahman Malik they will again come to seats to enjoy it for last 15 days......
