Tennis: Zubair reaches Subhe Nau final

Zubair defeated Sherbaz Malik 6-1, 6-0 at the KMC Sports Complex.

KARACHI: Talha Zubair booked his place in the Subhe Nau Championship men’s singles final with former Davis Cupper Nomi Qamar, as he defeated Sherbaz Malik 6-1, 6-0 at the KMC Sports Complex.

Elsewhere, Murad Khan clinched the boy’s under-18 event as he outplayed Aqeel Shabbir 6-4, 6-4.

In other matches, Muhammad Raza Sawani defeated Jalaluddin Babar 6-0, 6-1 to win the boys under-14 championship, whereas Hania Naveed topped in the ladies singles category which was played in a round-robin format.

Hania defeated Kinza Ghanchi 6-1, 6-4 in her last match of the league.

Neha Khan won against Rida Khan 6-2, 6-0 to secure second position.

Hania and Neha will play the final today, while Rida and Kinza will play each other for third place.
