Central Deputy Information Secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sharjeel Inam Memon predicted on Wednesday that soon the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz will bifurcate.
In a press release issued, Sharjeel Memon, who is also the information minister of Sindh, further predicted that as soon as the caretaker setup was put in place several PML-N politicians would defect to join the PPP.
Memon said that the leaders who only considered people living in Lahore a part of Punjab should think about the people living in the rural areas of Punjab. He added that while the people in Lahore prospered, the people living in rural Punjab were deprived of their basic necessities, including clean drinking water, health and education.
He accused the Sharif family of corruption, claiming that the PML-N would be defeated in the next elections.

Despite being a strong critic of PPP, I fully endorse the views of Sharjil Memon. PML-N has proved that their governance is all about Lahore. They are least concerned about anything else.

as per SM's theory, we have people in punjab who only think about lahore and not rest of punjab. practically we have people in sindh who neither think about karachi nor rural sindh. i think our devils are better.
But I predict the emergence of Nationalist Party in Upper Punjab that will counter PTI+PMLN+PMLQ+PPP as a whole in the next two-three years. Nationalism is rising in many parts of Upper Punjab and apart from Lahore and some city regions people want some nationalistic outlook right now and this void will be filled in coming months by some local party with its emergence from rural Punjabi heartland of Central Punjab and Potohar regions. Now people are tired to hate their own language and culture on the name of Pakistan as they are realizing that Pakistan can never be homogeneous what they were told by making a fool out of them in the past rather federation with recognition of every language and ethnicity is the only way forward.
And then................Sharjeel memon..................woke up from dream.
The level of PPP is such low in punjab that it begs for support from PMLQ, TUQ and indirect support from IK/PTI to even come closer to PMLN, let alone beat it. In many constituencies it may not be able to find even a suitable candidate to field in elections....and still sharjeel memon type peole say what they are saying.
The issue with PPP is that governance is totally irrelivant to it.......after giving gifts of loadshedding and gas discontinuation.....it still dreams that people will give it votes. it may happen in sind in the name of ethnic card and martydom card............but not in punjab. Punjab has moved a longway from 1970s....PPP will learn it.
If Sharjeel Memon forms a political party that has a multi-racial and multi-language edifice to it, there will be many takers. However, there is only one hitch..........and that is he will have to give up all his spiritual and physical wadera habits. He can take a cue from Imran Khan. Salams 2013
