GUJRAT:

Three examination centre superintendents were suspended on Friday over poor performance.

Additional Director Public Instruction (Secondary Education) Bilal Qamar made surprise visits to 16 examination centres in the city that are being administered by the Punjab Education Commission.

He was accompanied by Executive District Officer (Education) Muhammad Kashif Tahir and Deputy Executive Officer Syeda Abida Bano.

The DPI said he was satisfied with the arrangements at 13 centres. Not satisfied with the invigilation at the Government High School in Chiryawla, Government High School in Gandra Kalan and Government High School in Daulat Nagar, he suspended the superintendents there. He also reprimanded the resident inspectors for overlooking the inadequate arrangements at these centres.

The DPI said that he would continue to make surprise visits at the centres throughout the examinations. Strict action would be taken against those caught cheating and those helping them.
