Torrential rain: Four children die in roof collapse

Heavy rain causes destruction in Mohmand Agency.

SHABQADAR: Two children were killed, their parents injured when the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain in Mamad Gat Safi area of Mohmand Agency.

Upper Mohmand Agency Assistant Political Agent Jamshed Khan said the roof of the mud-brick house of Hashmat Khan collapsed a little after midnight on Thursday, injuring him and his wife, while their children Zabihullah, four, and six-month-old Hadia died on the spot.

The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, where Hashmat was said to be in critical condition.

In a separate incident, two other children also died as a result of roof collapse.
