MANSEHRA:

The district administration has warned traders of strict action if they failed to remove encroachments. This was decided during a meeting held at the office of Assistant Commissioner (AC) Ali Shehzad. Representatives of local traders, transporters and Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Malik Ejaz attended the meeting.

While addressing the participants, the AC expressed dissatisfaction over the temporary and concrete encroachments which have led to traffic mess and difficulties for pedestrians in busy areas.

Despite being told to remove the encroachments repeatedly, the encroachers are yet to yield, he added.

He also criticised the traffic police for a number mini taxi stands and parking lots that were being operated illegally by different groups of transporters. He asked DSP Ejaz to ensure their removal on priority basis.

On the other hand, the traders suggested solutions for getting rid of the encroachments and illegal mini stands. The AC asked the traders to remove their encroachments especially sheds, push carts, extended portion of shops otherwise the administration would launch anti encroachment operation.
