Muhammad Ayaz Badiuzaman, 35, who was affiliated with the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ), was shot dead by two armed men on motorcycles outside his office at Khalid Bin Waleed Road, near the Ferozabad police station. He used to work at Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation. Members of ASWJ held a protest near his home in Mehmoodabad condemning his killing and those of other party members.
The employ of a real estate company, 32-year-old Muhammad Hayat Ameer, was also shot dead near the Surjani police station. The case is still being investigated.
A 40-year-old man, Aleem Pervez Saleem, was shot dead and his employers, Aun Raza and Ali Raza, were wounded by armed men in Bohrapir, near the Risala police station. DSP Pervez Iqbal Bhatti explained that the injured men, who are brothers, belong to Bohra community and run a hardware shop in Bohrapir. They were on their way to PECHS in a rickshaw when two armed men on a motorcycle fired at them. The deceased and injured were taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi.
The police also found the body of a man from Banaras flyover, near the Pirabad police station. There were no bullet wounds or any evidence of torture on his body which has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Two robbers were killed and a constable wounded during an exchange of fire with the police near Gol Market, Nazimabad police station. The deceased have yet to be identified. One of the culprits managed to escape. Two pistols and stolen money were also seized from their possession.
