Captain Butt and fast bowlers Asif and Mohammad Aamer were banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for contriving to bowl deliberate no-balls during the Lord's Test between Pakistan and England in August 2010.
Butt was banned for 10 years, with five suspended, Asif for seven years with two suspended and the then teenager Aamer for five years.
The trio were also jailed by a British court over the scandal in November 2011. All three were released last year after completing half of their sentences.
Aamer, now 20, decided not to pursue his appeal to the Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after pleading guilty to the charges in Britain.
But Asif's appeal will be heard in the Lausanne court on Thursday, exactly two years and a day after they were banned, and Butt's on Friday.
"It's a high-profile case of two world-class players with the whole cricket world focused on it and we will fight to get the ban overturned," Asif's lawyer Ravi Sukul told AFP from London.
"Asif was a terrific bowler and and it was terribly unfortunate that a bowler of his class suffered this, but we will try our best to get this ban overturned and Asif is in high spirits."
Butt will be represented by another London-based lawyer, Yasin Patel.
Asif, 30, played 23 Tests and 38 one-day internationals and was regarded as one of the best new-ball bowlers in the world.
Butt, 28, was made Test captain on that fateful tour of England, and Aamer was regarded as the fastest emerging bowler in the world.
The ICC will be represented by legal firm Bird and Bird.

AAmir is not even going to Switzerland to fight ban even he is the one who should be going because not only he is 20 years old who has alot more time to play compared to the other two crooks, and look at them they are going there, these two Asif and Butt should be banned for the rest of their lives, period we dont want them to b ein our teams, once a thief always a thief.
Well , They cheated the nation and every body's trust and confidence. It is not a case that they were naive and did'nt know that if caught they may be banned. They did it for money. They were representing Pakistan and they cheated their own mother land for personal benefit. Shame on them !
who will appear before the court first butt or asif ?
wanna bet?
Why are they dying for playing in Pakistan cricket team for earning money?PCB should never allow them to play in Pakistan cricket team and focus on the other talent like Irfan because Pakistan has lots of talented cricketers and now there is no need and place of players like Salman Butt and Muhammad Asif in Pakistan cricket team now......
Anyone notice how he (Butt) is not claiming to be innocent in his appeal as he does to the media in Pakistan? Here he's trying to get off on a technicality, whereas he tells everyone bck home that he's innocent. Shame.
I really hate it everytime a news channel calls Salman Butt for his analysis after a match. It's criminal to even ask him about his opinion, would you go to a thief or target killer and ask him questions on the current law & order situation in the country?
i still remember that in start our media and public said thats its a conspiracy by india to trap our players.v as a nation always put balme on others.
the ban serves them right, i don't want more shame to be brought to my country's name by these idiots. sorry
Both of them got fair justice.
British court have solid evidence against these guys corruption.
By this punishment it went well massage across the cricket players in Pakistan.
I am sure if they got caught in Pakistan they never got any plenty as our system is slow and not operating well.
Pakistanis . . . please learn . . . this is what justice looks like. . There is no future without it . . . embrace it for your own good.
What a shame that Pakistan always relies on foreign powers to dispense justice......our cricketers were corrupt and everyone in Pakistan knew it but we never bothered to do anything about it, just like the terrorist criminals in Pakistan who also escape justice because we are complicit in their activities.......well at least we have USA dealing with that
Just one word - why?
Both of these men should be banned for life.
where do the get the money to fight this case? Do they pay taxes?
Picture of the duo is worth a thousand words. No explanation needed.
May the justice prevail!!!
