LAHORE:

The Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) Punjab’s boycott of Outpatient Departments (OPDs) at public hospitals continued on Friday as its members refused to examine patients in OPD.

They saw patients in tents pitched outside OPDs at public hospitals.

Young doctors are protesting against the non-implementation of service structure and victimisation of their fellows.

We are registering our protest peacefully but the Health Department is victimising doctors by transferring and terminating doctors. The Health Department is pushing us to take extreme steps but we don’t want patients to suffer and will continue examining patients outside OPDs,” said YDA Media Secretary Dr Khawar Shehzad.
