ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan on Tuesday warned India against using ‘indiscriminate’ force in Indian Kashmir, saying that it would threaten possible prospects of negotiated peace settlement.

“India is pushing the region towards another war. There will be very dangerous repercussions of it”, Attique said at a news conference here, a day after the Indian troops opened fire at protestors in Srinagar which killed more than a dozen people.

There has been a dramatic surge in the protests led by the activists, and also in the retaliatory violence exercised by more than half a million forces in the Indian Kashmir.

Attique condemned the killing of innocent protestors and called for an international inquiry into the events that have been unfolding lately.

Attique said he would urge members of Britain and the European parliament of Kashmiri origin to lodge a criminal case against the Indian ‘brutality’ in the International Court of Justice.

“The killing of Kashmiris is the worst kind of state terrorism. The world must raise a voice against it,” Sardar said, as he announced that ‘solidarity’ will be expressed across Pakistan and AJK on Friday, with those resisting violence on the other side of the Line of Control (LoC).

The prime minister said that the international community including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) should take note of the ‘rapidly deteriorating situation’ in Indian Kashmir. He also urged India to avoid the continued violation of human rights.

Ashutosh | 13 years ago | Reply The demonstrations are not peaceful, they all are armed with stones and the injuries can be fatal. The demonstrators had been burning public and private properties. * I have seen numerous pictures of these demonstrations on the net, which are very convincing that the security forces are very retained. That probably explains the world keeping silent. * Can you imagine, attack by army with artillery, areal bombardments, helicopter gunships being excessively used against civilians. A country resort to all there not against the enemy but against their own citizen. Plus a black out for the media is the icing to the cake. * None of these was ever done against any Indian Citizen, including the Kashmiris.
Sultan Ahmed. | 13 years ago | Reply They are not slaves, repeatedly shooting them, they are human being and citizen of the state. Kashmir's people has been struggling since long but still failed to access the destination because they are combating with nuclear armed India. As for as International Court of Justice is concerned no doubt, it has jurisdiction to hear the case, but process is too slow to decision within short time. United Nations general assembly, is the other option, who will support Kashmir there, United Kingdom,United States are not in position to see the right of Kashmir's people there. These two countries has diplomatic relations with India that is great market and ally of them on the war in terror. Struggle is the last option, saying with hope, the day would come when the people of Kashmir would success to gain freedom.
