A number of people affected by the devastating floods are living in the open along the Indus bank, according to a report on Tuesday.
The area was identified by army teams operating in the area. DHA Administrator Brig Aamer Raza Qureshi deputed relief teams to the area on Eid day on the instructions of Corps Commander Lt Gen Shahid Iqbal.
A medical camp with five qualified doctors including female doctors, paramedical staff and medical supplies was established. Doctors also visited flood survivors who were suffering from diarrhoea, malaria, respiratory diseases, skin infections and dehydration. The relief operations were directly supervised by Director Administration DHA Brig (Retd) Saleem Abdullah. Volunteers distributed special family gift packs containing dry rations such as tea, milk, sugar, biscuits, mineral water, dates and sweets.
