10 students win gold medals, 2 bag presidential cash prizes.

More than 220 graduates were awarded Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees at the 14th convocation of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa(K-P) Barrister Masood Kausar said the nation and K-P in particular, is confronted with serious challenges, including energy shortage, poor urban infrastructure and terrorism, and it is expected of our academics to come forward with ideas to help overcome these challenges.



While congratulating the graduates, the governor said: “You are considered the builders of the nation and you must apply your knowledge and expertise on ground – this is your primary responsibility,” he advised.

Students were conferred degrees in Electrical, Computer System, Computer Science and IT, Architecture, Mechanical, Mining, Chemical, Industrial, Basic Sciences and Islamiat, Telecom, Electronics, Computer Software, Mechatronics, Civil, and Agriculture engineering. Ten graduates received gold medals for obtaining distinctions. Muhammad Fahad Khan and Hikmat Nissa bagged the presidential cash award for excellence in academic performance.
