A Supreme Court larger bench, headed by the chief justice, heard the case today.
Former Pakistan ambassador to US was implicated in the scandal where he allegedly had a memo delivered to Admiral Mike Mullen through Mansoor Ijaz. The memo had offered greater government cooperation in return for US backing against the powerful military in the immediate aftermath of the May 2 raid.
During the hearing, Haqqani’s counsel Asma Jehangir submitted a letter written to the interior ministry with regards to her client’s security.
She informed the court that Haqqani cannot appear before the court due to security concerns.
Jehangir further said the former ambassador to the US has been receiving threats via social media and asked the concerned authorities to investigate the matter.
In its short order, the court asked the interior secretary to explain why it has failed to ensure Haqqani’s safe return to Pakistan.
The hearing was adjourned till February 12.

The 'Star Witness' of the estabishment, Mr Mansoor Ijaz's testimony before the 'Judicial Commission' set up by the SC, turned out to be a joke. Mr Ijaz failed to prove his 'close association' with Haqqani. Just sample this,
A. Asked why he had turned against Haqqani he said that in September Haqqani told him he was resigning as ambassador and asked him to tell the Americans that they should consider him (Haqqani) their man “to solve their problems.” This made Ijaz realize, he claimed, that Haqqani was very ambitious and wanted to become a substitute to Zardari as Pakistan’s President.
B. Mansoor Ijaz does not claim that the memo was created on any of Haqqanis’ electronic devices

As a principle accused in the famoums Memo case, Huqqani describe his production in the court in Pakistan a highg risk for his life because circumstances are not dependable despite the fact that there is government of his own paryt in the center Mr. Huqqani has long been Amassador in the united States for remakable time and now notorious main accused in the Memo scandal.
Mr. Huqqani refused to come to Pakistan attanding the apex court proceedings due to life threat condition, Here is question of of his personal safety. According to him I can not hand over my life to the state machinery.
Remenber, when monsoor refused to come to Pakistan for recording his statement he demanded for video link the same was fulfilled,Huqqani have same demand must be admitted
In case,, he is not accused but I understand he is just like an accused .He tried to sabotage internal peace of the countryby sharing with Huqqani so liable to face same legal behave and being faced by Huqqani.
Memogate is a dead horse, why Supreme Court is banking upon it. Mansoor ijaz failed to substantiate his claims now this is an empty drum and Supreme Court wants to beat up it. The court that is ordering Hussain Haqqani to appear before him, is agree to assure his security???? I don’t think so that Hussain Haqqani is save in this country, why should he put his life at stake for an issue which does not exist either and that is only a scripted drama. Mansoor Ijaz was a gimmick, he made his appearance, gained some popularity and just disappeared. I request Supreme Court to pity on the poor nation for their money is not so useless that is spent upon such fabricated cases.
One only hopes the SC CJ would have been this active against the killers of hundreds of Shia, his own son, the generals he found guilty of stealing money and elections. This is selective justice and HH should stay away from such a court. They would not bring back Gen Mush, how can they bring back HH?
Unfortunately, it has become our national character to waste time on un-necessary matters, and at the same time complain of being over-worked. Now only way to bring back the ex-embassador is to issue binding orders to US Secretary of State, or the US President to immediately hand him over to law officials.

Let's face it. H Haqqani was, presumably, a top diplomat representing Pakistan to the USA. And that is precisely what he has done and continues to perform. For he gave an Undertaking to the Supreme Court of Pakistan that if they "released" him now he would return when required. That his word turns out to be valueless is a true representation of the state of Pakistan society and therefore a true depiction of the State of Pakistan. It is imperative that all sections of society yell hard to get matters sorted out.
Why court is not using similar language and method for Musharaf ?
It is called justice in Pakistan the blind justice indeed, where is the Arsalan Don case to brought everybody before SC.

Why did you let him go in first place? This is where such law fails. Delayed rulings, postponed hearings...will do no good for justice. Justice Delayed is justice denied judge sahab!!!
After all this time SC have wokeup .... this is all the games played by all the Politicians..... no one is sincere for the country ...only in making money .... this country needs strong Martial Law. ... Dont deserve the democracy as we as the nation are not that literate to understand the true meaning of it
