Sukkur high court bar: Former secretary becomes president

SUKKUR: Qurban Malano led his supporters to victory over the Progressive Lawyers Forum in the Sukkur high court bar association elections on Saturday. Malano, who was the general secretary of the association, was elected president in the elections. He defeated his rival, Bhajan Das Tejvani, by securing 450 votes to Tevjani’s 315 votes. Madam Rana Mushtaq Shah was elected vice president after she defeated Shamsuddin Kobhar by a margin of 102 votes. Yasir Shar of Malano’s group received 394 votes to become the bar association’s general secretary, and defeated Shams Rajpar, who had secured 359 votes. Zulfiqar Domki and Abdul Raheem became the joint secretary and library secretary respectively.
