RAJANPUR: Aamir Koreja and his son Uzair Koreja have been released on bail after being caught posing as advisors to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

Earlier, Aamir Koreja was handed over to the Punjab police on a bodily remand after he had been found guilty of posing as an advisor to the prime minister.  Koreja has also been charged with trying to break through special security arrangements for the prime minister and for abusing police personnel deputed at the security check post. According to police officials, Aamir Koreja had been trying to enter a gathering where Gilani was likely to address people in Rajanpur. He was stopped at the security gates by police officials and asked his underage son (who was driving) to break through the check posts. After further investigation, police found that Koreja also possessed a fake ID card and an FIR was lodged against him. Aamir Koreja’s son Uzair Koreja was also arrested as he was caught driving while being underage. “We questioned him at the security check post but when he began misbehaving after we checked his ID card we got suspicious,” said superintendent police (SO) Liaqat Bashir, adding that Koreja mentioned several times that he was the prime minister’s advisor. “When we confirmed the story with the prime minister’s staff present there they said they had never even seen him,” he said.
