KARACHI: Investigators suspect that the outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) could be behind the twin blasts in Quaidabad, Landhi, which killed four people on the eve of Rabiul Awwal 12 (Thursday).

DSP Kamal Mangan and sub-inspector Akbar were among those killed while ten policemen were injured in the explosions that occurred near a garbage collection point located along Rehri Goth in New Muzzafarabad Colony.

According to the Crime Investigation Department SP Mazhar Mashwani, the initial investigation suggests that the Naeem Bukhari faction of LeJ along with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan could have been behind the incident. He told The Express Tribune that some suspects have been detained while further investigation was underway to ascertain the motive behind the attacks.
