FAISALABAD: Residents of Dilawar Colony on Samundri Road staged a demonstration on Thursday against the unscheduled gad load shedding. The protesters, including women and children, gathered on Samundri Raod and burned tyres. They said the gas load shedding had paralysed their daily routine. They shouted slogans against the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and said that the domestic consumers were being deliberately deprived of gas supply. Abdul Ghafoor, one of the protesters, said that every time they went to complain at the SNGPL offices, the officials there made excuses about low pressure which they said was due to the cold weather. “The winter season is almost over and they are still giving the same reasons.” The protesters said they could neither cook food properly, nor use the gas heaters. They said lots of people had been forced to use gas cylinders, which were dangerous.
