HYDERABAD:

Routine activities in the city continued to remain suspended on Wednesday, a day after an activist of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was killed, and a man belonging to the Shia sect was injured in separate incidents.

All markets and educational institutions remained closed, and public transport remained off the streets. The closures came about after 25-year-old ASWJ activist Adnan Shaikh was killed in Liaquat Colony on Tuesday. Two separate FIRs of the incidents have been lodged at Bhitai Nagar and Sakhi Pir police stations. Police and Rangers personnel prevented further clashes between the two groups.
