The website quoted sources as saying that DawnNews will pay her Rs1.8 million monthly for hosting a show.
Behind the scenes footage showing Mubashir Lucman and his co-anchor Bokhari talking to business tycoon Malik Riaz during their show had surfaced on YouTube under the title “Malik Riaz Planted Interview with Mehar Bokhari and Mubashir Lukman on Dunya TV.”
The footage showed conversations between Lucman, Bokhari and Riaz focused on the kind of questions they will be asking. Both anchors were also instructed against interrupting Riaz during the interview.
The video went viral on social media and sparked many media debates, after which Lucman and Bokhari left Dunya TV.
Mehr has previously worked for Samaa Television, while her husband Kashif Abbasi, hosts a TV show on ARY News.

@kHaN: chachaa, not every anchor gets that much money. There are only 10 or 15 of them who make this much. On the other hand, almost every doctor makes decent money. So stick with what you are doing.

Well no one is equal and its just fake ideas of peoples that the money comes from US , Go and every TV show and imagine and see what is actually happening there and you will considered where the youth of our country is standing and come to screen then comment what ever you want :P
Oh Bhai A Khan, the money for most of the Pakistan media comes from the U.S.
The censored junk and garbage propaganda these media outlets vomit is in line with the same they do in the U.S. and much of the western world.
U.S. Aid, World Bank and the IMF control the levers of power in Pakistan, and it is they who decide what type of info or propaganda to disseminate via these self funded media outlets.
A victim of social-media, Meher Bokhari still is the most popular and highly respected Pakistani female journalist and a host. She should have never joined Duniya TV in the first instance whose owner started the channel as a 'business' rather than something evolved from the profession they were already in as has been the case of Dawn TV.
Rs1.8m for scripted interviews ? I wonder who really provides the money to these tv stations. They certainly cannot afford that from their advertising and pathetic programming.

Getting Rs.1.8 million after watching that Dunya TV clip just goes to show that our media channels have 0 ethics and they just focus on sensationalism.

I have always regarded Dawn as a top notch Newspaper. Hiring a person like Mehr Bokhari would definitely change my opinion about this newspaper. Dawn should seriously reconsider its options.
