GUJRANWALA: Members of the Christian community protested against the sale of construction material at the Christian graveyard on Sunday. More than 100 protesters gathered in front of the UP Kalisa graveyard on Hafizabad Road. The protesters said some people had started using a part of the graveyard to store and sell bricks, sand, cement and gravel. They said they had submitted complaints at the offices of the district coordination officer and the commissioner in this regard, but no action was taken to stop the encroachers. The protesters alleged that the people who had set up their businesses in the graveyard enjoyed support of the local police. They demanded that the DCO and the commissioner take action against these people. They also demanded that the district government workers be directed to clean the graveyard and plant trees there.
