RAHIM YAR KHAN: A contractor killed a eunuch when he opened fire on him after the eunuch refused to accompany him back home.
Haripur government contractor 40-year-old Sajid encountered 24-year-old eunuch Arsalan alias ‘Cheena’ while he was driving on chaand raat and went to her house.
Eyewitnesses said that Sajid spent the two days of Eid with Cheena and her roommate Abid alias ‘Sitara’ at Chak 11.
As Sajid was returning back home to Haripur on Monday at 12.30 pm he asked Cheena to leave with him and when she refused he opened fire on her and fled from the scene. Sitara told reporters that Sajid was trying to force Cheena to leave with him and she kept refusing.
“He began to threaten us and said that he would take us to the police when Cheena still refused to leave the community and her home he pulled out a gun,” she said.
“Cheena and I were both soliciting customers on the roads on chaand raat when Sajid picked us up and then he spent the next two days in our house,” Sitara said.Police officials have registered a case and started an investigation into the murder. Cheena was a resident of Sadiqabad tehsil and after the murder panic has gripped the area. The small Sadiqabad eunuch community has expressed serious concerns regarding their safety. A large number of people thronged the crime scene and protested the murder as police officials launched their investigation.
