The US was concerned about the spate of violence on the LoC.
WASHINGTON:
US State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland has said that the United States respects the electoral process of Pakistan. In response to a question at the daily press briefing, Nuland said that the turmoil in Pakistan was an internal issue that Pakistan itself had to solve. She said that Pakistan had an established electoral process which needed to be respected, adding that the issue needed to be solved democratically and according to the constitution of Pakistan. She said it was encouraging that people on senior levels in India and Pakistan have been discussing the recent tensions on the Line of Control. The US was concerned about the spate of violence on the LoC. She said that both countries have committed to dialogue on the issue, and that is what the US supports.
