Medical education: UHS Syndicate approves curricula

The Syndicate of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) has approved the curricula for an MPhil in medical laboratory sciences and a four-year BSc nursing programme.


At its 34th meeting here at the university on Monday, the syndicate also amended the eligibility requirement for candidates seeking admission to BSc (Hons) in biotechnology, allowing candidates with an FSc in pre-engineering to apply. However, FSc pre-medical candidates will be preferred.

The syllabi and courses for a master’s degree in health professional education, a four-year master’s and a two-year diploma in family medicine, and a certificate in medical teaching in collaboration with the University of Liverpool were also approved at the meeting. The syndicate also approved a format for PhDs in clinical and basic science disciplines.

UHS Vice Chancellor Prof IA Naveed chaired the meeting of the syndicate.
