A court has ordered the police to register a case against two police officials for barging into a house without a warrant and allegedly attempting to kidnap a child.
Shabina Bibi filed a writ application with the Additional Sessions Judge, accusing Additional Station House Officer (SHO) Aftab Khan and City Police Registrar Abid of barging into her house and trying to kidnap her daughter Saiqa Bibi.
The complainant said that since her divorce a few months back, her former husband Siraj has tried to get custody of their daughter multiple times.
For this, she said, he sought the help of SHO Aftab and other police officials. She also accused them of harassing and beating her up while trying to snatch her daughter.
However when they cried for help, the locals came to their rescue and the intruders fled the scene. When she approached the police, they refused to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused.
On Saturday, the court ordered the police to register an FIR against the two accused. The local police said on Sunday that they have not registered the case as the court order has yet to reach them.
