ISLAMABAD: Residents of Taxila, Wah Cantt, Hasanabdal and surrounding areas have been forced to buy flour at inflated rate after shortages of the commodity intensified. Talking on Sunday, local people demanded that the government take notice of flour dealers who are fleecing consumers by selling the flour above fixed prices. They said an artificial shortage has been created by hoarders while the concerned administrations have turned a blind eye towards them. Shopkeepers are selling a 20kg flour sack for between Rs720 and Rs800, more than Rs100 over the official price, adding that prices of meat and other commodities have also been inflated.
