Cricket: SBP through to Governer’s Cup final
SBP beat National Bank of Pakistan by 42 runs in the semi-final.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and United Bank Limited (UBL) have moved into the final of the 11th State Bank Governor’s Cup Inter Banks’ Regional Cricket Tournament, by winning their respective semi-finals. SBP beat National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) by 42 runs in the semi-final played at SBP Sports Complex in Karachi. SBP scored 181 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, NBP could only manage 139 for six, putting SBP through to the final. In the other semi-final, UBL defeated Habib Metropolitan Bank (HMB) by eight wickets in a low scoring match. HMB managed 97 runs in 20 overs, which UBL chased easily, reaching the target in 14.4 overs with eight wickets to spare.
