This time, the person nominated was Sajjad Talpur, whose brother Siraj was apprehended a day earlier from interior Sindh.
Both the brothers are in police custody now, while the alleged shooter, Shahrukh Jatoi is still at large.
Earlier believed to have fled the country, Shahrukh Jatoi, is still in Pakistan, Express News quoted Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sources as saying.
Jatoi, the prime suspect in Shahzeb Khan’s murder had, according to earlier reports, fled to the UAE on December 27.
Jatoi is wanted for allegedly gunning down 20-year-old Shahzeb over a small argument.
The Supreme Court took suo motu notice of the case after the news spread that influential people were creating hurdles in their arrest.
In its first hearing, the police were ordered to arrest the suspects within 24 hours or risk losing their jobs.

@Jibran: "I’m not sure you understand the job description of the politicians." I'm not sure u've been keeping up with the news buddy, or u wouldn't have made such a naive statement. The CJ is constantly taking steps and trying to remind the Government of its jd and what it should be doing. So, yeah, it's the politicians who have to be constantly reminded of their job descriptions. Spare us the democracy-apologist drivel.
@elcay: the problem is that we vote for these culprits or not....they are going to come again coz the elections will not be fair in anycase.
It seems there is no govt in Pakistan. Only the CJ is trying his best to maintain law and order. Rest all govt functionaries are sleeping. Why can't the PM or the CMs do anything?
Hang these feudals to set an example
Nai chadna mujrimaan noooooooo !!
Siraj Talpur's brother nominated in case
And the typical police/judicial witch hunting starts. Round up all the family members.... our judicial system works in strange ways!
@Analyzer: I'm not sure you understand the job description of the politicians. It's not their job to arrest, its the bureaucracy which runs the affairs of the state. So, put the blame where it lies.
@elcay: Your naive comments are just amazing. For every murder going on in the country, the intervention has to come from the head of the state. Grow up kid!
@Analyzer buddy give them and your electorate the time to mature up they wont be perfect the first time around... hopefully they will keep on getting better thats the way out of this mess!!
@pakistani you voted for the wrong buggers!!
Power Vs Power
@Blithe: You're right. But then these politicians and infact democracy are useless for us, as no one honestly expects them to do anything useful.
The whole mess has been created by these waderahs turned politicians. They still have their private armies, now called political parties. They have the same old rash temperament and engraved cruelty in their nature. The whole Pakistani nation is still slave of these waderahs, sardars, mashars and sain. We talk of democracy and what not through these jokers, without eliminating the basic flaws. As a nation we have gone insane, we are trying to milk the mules.
@ Blithe though I wish he could sit in Karachi and sort out the things but the question is .. what are these buggers doing, whom we voted for?
We cannot tolerate injustice in society. Perpetrators of such heinous crimes must be brought to justice not only for the inner satisfaction of deceased parents / dear ones but also in dropping the message to such criminals that their intolerance is no more acceptable in Pakistan.
I wouldn't mind if CJ sits in Karachi for a long duration .
He can clean up this mess that Karachi has become .
