RAHIM YAR KHAN: The district administration has assured lady health workers and teachers who go door-to-door to administer polio vaccine that they would be given adequate security during the next polio drive. The three-day drive is scheduled to kick off on January 14. About 8.66 million children across the district will be vaccinated. On Friday, DCO Nabeel Javed met with DPO Sohail Zafar Chattha and representatives of the departments concerned to discuss security arrangements for the polio drive. Javed and Chattha discussed how to make the coordination among the various departments more efficient. The DCO told the Polio Eradication Committee that it was their job to boost the morale of vaccinators. The DPO was tasked with ensuring that the SHOs provide security to the teams operating in their jurisdictions.
